Next Step - New Adventures

Hey there friends!

I’ve had a lot of life changes as of late. We moved to Mississippi, I started at a new job, and we sold our house. It’s been a wild ride, with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. This time of transition has made me reflect and write more. It has been good for my soul. I recently found this 1/2 written poem and decided to finish it. Here’s to next steps and new adventures!

I imagine myself standing firm
In this place
My feet heavy
Solid on the ground
Beneath me

I imagine the weight
Of my legs
As I lift it upward

The dread
Keeps me
Here

I imagine my heart
Beating faster
Excitement and anxiety
Promise of good things
If I
Move

I imagine myself
Stepping forward
The freedom felt
The weight lifted

I imagine
I stay
I go

The sound of my
step
Echoes in my
Soul
Not much has changed
Yet everything has changed
At the same
Time

I now
Stand firm
In this
Place

All that I am
Longs for the
Next step
